Maryland Emergency Phone NetCommunications in the Public Interest Since 1952 |
The Maryland Emergency Phone Net (MEPN) is a section net of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) National Traffic System (NTS). Its purposes are to provide efficient coordinated radio communication in time of emergency, to provide a means for people commonly interested in amateur radio to associate, and to further better cooperation among its members and the general community.
The MEPN meets every night at 6:00 PM local on 3820 kHz to pass traffic within the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia. Liaisons to nets in the states of Delaware and West Virginia are available. All appropriately licensed amateur operators are invited to participate in MEPN operations, even if they are not members. |
