Information Collection, Use, and Sharing
The Baltimore Volunteer Examiner Team (BVET) is the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to collect information that you voluntarily give us via our registration form or through email. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.
BVET does not accept or request your Social Security Account Number (SSAN or SSN) at any time. Instead of using your SSN, we require that the applicant register with the FCC and receive their FCC Registration Number (FRN) before registering for the exam session.
We will use this information to complete your application for an amateur radio license or upgrade of your existing license after you have passed any appropriate exam element(s). Once you have signed the application, your information goes to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and to the Laurel Volunteer Examiner Coordinator (Laurel-VEC). We do not share your information with anyone else. Your name, call sign, and license class, will be included in our session report listed on our website.
We ask for your email and telephone information so that we may contact you about the exam session for which you register. You have the option to have either or both not included in your application to the FCC. We will use your information if we need to contact you if an error or problem with you application should occur.
In order to take your exams at a BVET session you are required to preregister. Your use of the registration form on our webpage requires you to provide the following information need for the FCC application: your name, address, your FRN, your call sign (if you have one), and you must answer the FCC required felony question.
Our registration form asks for your telephone and email so that we can contact you regarding the exam session. You have the option to have this information not disclosed to the FCC on your application.
Your Access to and Control over Information
You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time. You can do the following at any time by contacting us via the email address or phone number given on our website:
- Change or correct any data we have about you.
- Have us cancel your registration for the exam session and delete your data.
- Express any concern you have about our use of your data.
We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline. When you register for one of our exam sessions, the team leader's secure webpage handles the registration form. You can verify that you are on the correct website by observing that the web address begins https://n3wke.com/. Your browser may also indicate that it is a secure web session.
While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only the team leader has access to your information until the exam session starts. The secured computers contain your information before, during and after the exam session. The computers used at the session site contain the applicants' data in encrypted form.
